Rich
I took the rear arms off the Mondeo the other day, which are powder coated. They have surface rust in places and the paint has bubbled Bit disappointed as it affects the look and they've only been on for 3 or 4 years. I've googled and it seems that this can happen if the surface isn't prepared correctly, is this right?
Tony
Yep.... It's all down to preparation.
Rich
Whoever did it then wasn't very good!! The metal underneath will be ok won't it, I'm just abit worried it's going to affect their resale price
Tony
Probably cosmetic so i wouldn't think it will be a problem for the sale.
scorps
I had my Lexus wheels powder coated and after 5 yrs they looked as good as the day i got them done, so yes its all about the prep.
CIH
IMO, nope. Any surface finish is liable to stone chips etc and once moisture gets under it's only a matter of time.
