Jap Devil
I'm off with the Tubby to Noble Motorsport in Chesterfield tomorrow, to have Unichip and boost control module fitted followed by a mapping session on the RR ......hoping for over 300bhp in time for the Ring
Adie
Nice one Mike. I bet that thing will fly round the ring considering how small and light it is
Jap Devil
And thereafter it starts to get silly power: Greddy TD06 turbo + wastegate Greddy I/C Blitz SBC boost control Greddy EMU 2.2 stroker kit (maybe) otherwise forged pistons/rods/crank 400 ponies at the wheels of a car that weighs less than 1,300Kg are looking very tempting! Adie
Is the MR2 relatively cheap to upgrade? OT my mate bought himself an MR2 in the end. He had a look over the place you bought yours from but ended up buying one from Reading. I've not seen it yet but he reckons it has 290bhp. Baby Shake
Yep Adie, Tubbies have the legendary and bulletproof 3S-GTE engine. The ceramic tubine on the CT20 spools well but loses power after 4K which is why I want to fit the TD06...its huge, which will delay spooling but will kick in big. Mike the only thing that will keep that on the road is an 'Anchor'..... and i bet you would have that 'up-rated'

Jap Devil
Well, car's back from Noble Didn't quite make the 300bhp number but not very far off - Before: 259.3 bhp / 250.3 lbft After: 295.2 bhp / 275.7 lbft Boost @ 4,000rpm Before 14psi After 17 psi (fuel cut hits @ 18 psi) It's awesome....and scary! BTW the numbers are "flywheel" not "hubs" due to the final figures being calculated back based upon transmission losses (which aren't all that much on the MR2) Edited March 30, 2006 by Jap Devil

Mr Singh
Thats it! How much did the mapping cost btw?
Jap Devil
I supplied the Unichip + boost module myself..... Fitting and mapping came to a few pence shy of Four Hundred Quid But well worth it..... BTW...these are the guys who build the V6 TT engines for the Noble brand
Mr Singh
That was 1/2 days work? Pretty standard price really... Mapping is darn expensive, but the drive home is memorable usually as you already mentioned
Jap Devil
Dastek have only a few authorised mappers nationwide....who have the software to map correctly. Anyone else who advertises to map needs to be taken with a pinch of salt, for the sake of your engine!
