I've still not decided whether to get a filter or not, seems to be big arguments about their use and how they affect image quality.

I've always bought Ghostless Filters for all my lenses and experiences in the Arctic & Antarctica proved their worth.

I have a £15 UV filter that is scratched to pieces by the Arctic winds & dust, that I show people who think its not worth having.

Would rather damage that than a £1,000+ lens.

One guy at work came back to me several months later and thanked me for advising him to buy one.

He tripped whilst climbing over a stile and cracked the UV filter but the lens was ok.

I might get one then, we will see but I'm looking at getting some ND filters as well to try for landscapes and water.

I have a polarising lens and a UV lense fitted. The polarising one is supposed to be good for shots into water etc
