Tony
Worst example ever!!! This Porsche owner had an MOT that found it needed rear bushings in the four-links, so he had the links replaced by a Porsche specialist thus passing the MOT. Despite the specialist saying the geometry had been done he felt the car wasn't handling correctly, so he came to us. During his 70 mile journey to us, just outside the centre one of the rear tyres blew out. And this is why This is one of the rear wheels NOT a front wheel on a lock Here is the geometry image, remember this had already been done? On the four-links are the camber and toe adjusters. Not only were they the wrong arms but the adjuster bolts weren't even in the horse-shoe, which is there to stop it moving. Some more images which are visibly displaying the angles are incorrect. The Worst example I've ever seen and remember his tyres which passed an MOT lasted 70 miles!!
Rich
Wow that is absolutely shocking!! A specialist fitted those arms too and did the geo, can they be reported for shoddy work? Just goes to show how quickly a tyre can lose it's rubber when the geo hasn't been done correctly.
adam_r
Holy sheit!!! I'm amazed that didn't crash on the way!!! Being rwd and the camber, toe and.. Well everything being wrong.. I bet that was a handful on the roads!
Rich
I still can't believe they gave the car back with the wheels looking like that! Is the car still with you Tony or was it sorted? Any feedback from the owner?
Tony
They did give him a geo report but only the before figures. I think they knew the arms were wrong hence the reason they didn't give him the after report. We managed to find tyres and went and got them and Gareth and myself recovered the geo to a much more drivable condition leaving a degree more camber than OEM allowed but that was the best we could do. I think the owner is going legal because although he allowed me to take pictures he insisted i didn't display the reg.
Steve-O
Thats shocking and disgusting. To be fair though had i seen that upon pickup i would of refused to drive it away its blatently sick!!
Tony
Most would know something was wrong in 20yds and at that point turn around...... This was a particularly bad example of p**s poor workmanship!
Rich
I'm assuming the owner didn't notice the wheels weren't straight then?
Tony
Seems unbelievable but seemingly not?
Rich
That NSR wheel is obviously not right!
Tony
To most it's dam obvious but to the laymen trust all should be well since a specialist did the work, i think they get blind sighted...... I mean this car didn't even make onto the geo ramp because we could see issues as it drove in.
