SMARTLY
That was done in my town last week, a lorry parked up next to Homebase overnight and all outer wheels gone. Left on massive wooden blocks.
Tony
Odd really because there's not much money in the tyre or wheel.
Geoffers
Really? I thought truck wheels and tyres cost a small fortune.
Tony
Most tyres are remolded and the price of steel is only just recovering from a flooded market.
liner33
Arent they about £1800 each ? Used to buy them back when I was a fleet manager , had a contract with Michelin , we would buy a tyre run it down , then recut and run down again and then they would remould it and we could run and recut it again , unfortunately our drivers would often wreck the sidewalls so they rarely got the full 4 lives
Tony
It may be accumulated £1800 but not at the point of sale. I used to work as part of a team maintaining the lorry tyres for Kodak, their HQ was in Hemel.
