Is there such a thing?.....

I don't think I've ever adjusted the gap on a spark plug, they're fitted straight out the box.

Really? Different cars can have different gaps and there is no guarantee that all four plugs have the same gap out of the box ;)

I remember many, many moons ago checking with my gap adjuster when I was going over my car.... I remember taking them out and giving them a tap on the pavement to knock them in ever so slightly. Tell you how long ago it was, it was my Escort Mk2. Gulp.

Last time I did it I swapped the rotor arm and points too as the spark seemed a little weak. My mate used to do his and was convinced the gap was exactly the width of the cardboard on No6 ciggy box!

rarely do different cars have different gaps modern spark plugs have a set gap that they operate best at , the problem with adjusting plugs is that some are very fragile and easy to damage if not careful
