Terrible tyre repair guide.....

Repairing a tyre sidewall can only be done using a "major repair" which melts rubber over the inner and outer sidewall. Any other type of repair is 100% outside of guidlines stringent rules. Sadly in the UK any repair is legal but any outside the approved method makes the repairer responsible for any consequences. Taking this into account this artical is nothing more than blatant disregard for the regulations. https://www.carsdirect.com/car-repair/tire-sidewall-repair-basics

Even if it was ok to repair sidewalls I don't think I'd be comfortable using a tyre that's previously been punctured this way.

I had a nail in a new tyre on the way home from WIM which went in the sidewall. I sold it on eBay for £10 so people must use tyres that have been repaired this way.
