Tony
Some more info Product descriptionSo In More Technical Terms, Supercharging Increases Both The Volumetric Efficiency Of The Engine And The Mass Air Flow Through The Engine To Produce Gains In Both Horsepower And Torque.Fitting Instructions PLEASE NOTE:-To Fit The Electronic Supercharger, It Would Normally Be Necessary To Remove The Cars Original Air Filter And Air Box, Which Would Normally Leave, Either An Air Intake Pipe, Or The Throttle Body Inlet. If Is An Air Intake Pipe, We Would Need To Know The Internal Diameter Of The Pipe, So As We Can Provide The Correct Fitting Adapter, If It Goes Direct On To The Throttle Body, We Would Need To Know External Diameter To Once Again Include The Correct Fitment. When The Electronic Supercharger Is Fitted On The Air Intake Side Of The Engine. The Silicone Hose May Have To Be Trimmed To A Correct Length With A Sharp Blade And Wire Cutters The Wiring Needs To Be Fitted To A Switched Or Constant Live, And The Earth Connected. The Micro Switch Needs To Be Fitted To The Throttle Linkage, Either By The Throttle Body Or Through The Bulk Head And Near To The Accelerator Pedal Being Careful Not To Put In A Position That Will Not Foul The Workings Of The Throttle Or Accelerator Pedal.Sure Up Any Loose Wiring With Cable Ties Or Electrical Tape
Rich
How much is a charger or turbo conversion, at least £2k? Do you really think this will work the same way.
liner33
Why?... Does it work the same as a supercharger, albeit low pressure? Rich the reviews are mixed although i don't understand why?
P4UL T
Why?... Does it work the same as a supercharger, albeit low pressure? Rich the reviews are mixed although i don't understand why? As soon I saw Tony's post I was gunna wack that video up for him. NickT
You might as well try and stick a hairdryer in its place instead
Tony
Well that's quite conclusive..... I'll get me coat
Rich
I know you don't work on engines Tony and I don't really know much about them but even I could see it was just a gimmick. Why would people pay thousands for superchargers if that would do the same thing for £100!
NickT
But Tony knows his geometry though

liner33
How often do you need more power ? Thought about nitrous ?
Tony
I'm not looking for top end but a faster RPM would be nice. I mean it's ok really but having had a turbo i think i expected more from the engine.
NickT
What about a remap for now? I'm sure you could get one in exchange for some geometry expertise.
Tony
Can a basic 1.8 engine be mapped?
liner33
Little point mapping a normally aspirated engine, you will only add 5 or 6 hp at most
Tony
Oh... It was just that NickT suggested it?
liner33
you can map pretty much anything but on a normally aspirated engine there is little you can do to actually add power you can only increase timing a little really and gains are minimal , its a different story on turbo charged engines
Rich
Stop being a tightarse and get a turbo!
liner33
Its an MR2 isnt it? If so you can get the Mr2 turbo engine fitted, probably best to call someone like Fensport
Tony
Wouldn't a turbo fit my 1.8 VVTI engine?
liner33
I'm sure you can buy a kit but thats not the cheapest way to do it
