Steve-O
No vendors don't give a crap about customs charges. It's out of their hands. I've imported from the US and Japan and usually you get a parcel force invoice and they put your stuff into a hold until you pay up. If you are lucky though it could slip through the net but in my experience its only the small jiffy bag stuff they can't be arsed with. Just something to be braced for. It's not like you have a choice on this one.
Tony
Nice of them not to warn me.
Steve-O
Yep none of them do. It puts people off ordering! It's still cheaper though and you might not get a letter
Tony
How do i pay customs then?
Steve-O
Don't worry about it for now. Keep a track of your shipment via online tracking. After arriving into Heathrow It'll go into a status like "awaiting customs charge payment" or "Being processed by local customs" and then you will know to expect a letter. They'll get it to you rather quickly don't you worry!! They don't want your stuff cluttering up the warehouse
Tony
Can i track them via ebay?.... Reason i ask is Amazon keep you very much in the loop.
Tony
Also i'm hoping the finger off the frame that's vertical is where the seat belt bolts on because on the old seats the belt bolted directly on the seat but i can't do that on the new seats. Steve-O
Yes there should be tracking info in ebay at some stage after shipping. Yeah I'd agree that the upright bit looks like where the hasp goes hopefully as long as they are on the correct sides when the frames pointing forwards. Tony
Fortunately i needed two rail sets but as seen they are listed driver/ passenger problem is do they mean UK or US? I agree with you the part that sticks up has nothing to do with the seat so it must be for the belts.
adam_r
Driver / passenger will be opposite to ours Tony. American is LHD. So their driver is our passenger side
Tony
Yeah i know that but i still don't know if they have accommodate the EU market or the US market.. Fortunately i needed two so i'm safe either way.
Tony
Finally a product that does do what it says... From past images you would notice the rear plastic window was yellow and barely able to see through. Putting trust in nothing i thought i would give this cleaner a go. After one 5min clean it came out like this.. I'm very impressed to the extent i no longer think i need to replace the hood
SMARTLY
Good job and hood looks fine
Tony
Thanks and it only took 5min really. The instructions say each time it's used the better it will be but i'm already impressed...
Tony
Latest news is i'm still not happy with the clarity of the rear engine viewing window and by chance i found this site that lists the window... Part number 12.... So i've ordered an OEM window costing........ £175+ vat + postage.
Steve-O
That creme is good I have some. The meguiars one is also excellent.
Tony
When i saw the size of the bottle i thought i had been done over so i was delighted how effective a small amount was.
Viking
Latest news is i'm still not happy with the clarity of the rear engine viewing window and by chance i found this site that lists the window... 008_128.gif Part number 12.... So i've ordered an OEM window costing........ £175+ vat + postage. I'm not certain that's going to fit., are you? Yours is a replica bodykit and the OEM one may be different.
Tony
I fear the same as you but if the body kit is sized from original moulds then i would hope the perspex is correct. Within reason i can size to fit other than that I'm in the realm of chance.
Rich
Cleaned up well, good job
Tony
Thanks.... Since past efforts like the rear perspex and headlight fails i didn't hold much hope with this cleaner..... I was pleasantly wrong.
liner33
Still think you could just have some cut using the one you have as a pattern
Tony
Maybe but remember the perspex is curved and has black shade around the boarder... Plan is to make the car look as near to the real thing as possible.
Tony
I'm getting a little worried... The listing is for F360 + F430 and i worked on a 430 today and the window is nothing like the 360?..... My only hope is the spyder is different on both cars? Tony
Glass turned up today and i'm pleased to say it's a perfect fit but?...... The one currently there is bolted on whereas then new one looks like it's bonded on, a sort of silicon fit 1: Because there's no bolt holes on it and 2: There's a rubber gasket around the outside. In addition the mat black border is much less on the top end of the glass so the new one might show areas of the actual engine rather than the fake engine, but we will see later in the year when things warm up a bit.
