Modifying a car solely for drifting takes some serious imagination if your going to get it right?

 

Engine mods aside there needs to be some critical changes to the steering.. The main area is in the name "Drift" In essence the car doesn't take corners like other race formulas. A correctly modified drift steering removes the Ackerman angle. This the disparity in the front wheels radius Example: If the outside wheel has a left radii of 20 degrees the inside wheel would by convention have around 21 degrees 30'. This disparity allows each front wheel to take a different radius.

 

As interesting as that is drift cars don't turn so there's a need to remove the Ackerman angle. Historically the mechanical Ackerman is designed into the front hubs by allowing the steering arm pickup point to rotate toward the wheels centre, the same can be said for a bend in the track-rod-end. Modifying the pickup points would allow each wheel to have the same turn angle.
