The only major experience I've had was the day after I got two new rear tyres on my IS200.

On a wet roundabout, only doing about 10mph the back end decided to go walk-about - I over-corrected which snapped the back end round the other way and the rear of the car ended up going sideways into the kerb:

I remember almost poohing my pants the time I took the Tubby out for a test drive - It was a cold November morning and there must have been some frost on the gound.

I was doing no more than 30mph on a rural Nothamptonshire lane and gave the throttle a boot to see how the turbo spooled up. Instantly the back end shot out to the left and I was heading for the hedge! I managed to steer into the slide and corrected but not before I was on the grass verge <_<

Fortunately there was no contact with anything other than the grass, but it taught me to treat this powerful car with a bit more respect!

Do you feel to much power in truth is a bad thing..... i like you would go for the maximum possible but it makes you wonder when even experienced people like yourself can be bittern what would happen it it were one of the Max power boys on a 'cruse trip' :o

Not at all!

300bhp from a car that doesn't weigh 1300Kg comes in very handy sometimes <_<

  • 2 weeks later...

I had a bit of fun last year going into my work carpark - it was all muddy and wet and as I enter the carpark I have to do a right turn, I must have had a bit too much power down and made a massive slide/drift - it was caught on our entry cctv cameras and later the Safety guy made a big point about showing people and telling tham that was how to NOT drive in the works car park!

oops

but my, was it fun

:D So in real terms you were making a safety video then Gazza

I put my foot down a little too much (touch of road rage :D ) turning into a road from a stop last week (new tyres & wet road) the back end slid out then back again, then again as I recovered it

Was great fun & I'm sure it looked impressive from behind though :D

Coming home one night in the wet (p***ing down),id been in the car about 5 mins and i reached down to turn the heated seats on and my sausage like fingers turned the TC off as i turned into a roundabout a little to quick than i should of and the car swung round and i thought i was on a fun fare ride.....i've still

got the wifes nail marks in the leather on the side of the passenger seat

Oh my word.... sorry about the nails...and the seat!.. does this experience make you happy or angry toward the TC... since it was the lack of it that caught you out?

i love the rain, there is a little one way system around my block of flats (by the sorting office) 4 90 degree turns, first to the left then 3 to the right, if i go into the corners in drive at about 15 mph then just plant it, the gearbox kicks down to 1st and the rear wheels just light up (only in the wet) then its just a case of keep it planted and tons of oppisite lock, i love it, just wish i had the power to do it in the dry. the magic roundabout is fun too because you can combine corners, just ease off inbetween swings i seem to be more confident doing this on right hand corners.. b the way im not trying to say this is big or clever, i feel ashamed after i do it.

I love it Tony its just that it caught me out and i wasn't expecting it and i was to heavy on the right foot.

Its much more fun when i know i've turned it off and can apply the throttle as needed.
