Freaky Roadster
You definitely don't want them in your house, they can cause worse damage than rats. Other than that.......so cute.

GamithUK
I was thinking that the trap broke it's neck, but I guess it was just recovering from the whack. Why it decided to leap forward is another thing though. Maybe it thought the camera attacked it.
phipck
thats what a severe head trauma can do to you. Essentially that squirrel has recieved the equivelent of a person getting a horse kick to the face, the brain short curcuits and what was previously well organised electrical path ways for considered thought becomes speradic and uncontrolable. The squirrel jumping at the end of the video was possibly the consiquences of the brain injury preventing the squirrel from processing the "run away" thoughts properly. So instead of a run motion it was a uncontroled jump. I find the video a little unpleasant, maybe because i have spent time with people who have suffered severe head trauma and the reactions and movements seem very simular in all animals. If you ever see person beaten/injured to within an inch of their life you may find yourself witnessing something simular in a human to what you have just watched in this video
Rich
Considering a squirrel is around the same size as a rat, maybe smaller, how comes the trap didn't kill it like they're suppose to. Or is it cos it seemed to approach with caution so wasn't over the trap completely?
phipck
i think the trap cracked him on the crown of his head instead of across his neck, hence it not trapping him. If it had hit his neck it would have likely broken it and trapped the squirrel.
Rich
I suppose a rat's head is further down as it crawls along the floor looking for food so the trap would've caught it's neck.
