  1. Our local council recently constructed one at the bottom of our cul-de-sac as we have a doctors on the corner and it helps people with limited mobility. Unitl we knew the full story, we campaigned against it and went to the meetings. A few things were pointed out to us as to why they didn't fall into normal traffic calming regulations. They are governed by other factors such as the height of the kerb, slope, etc. the kerbs couldn't be lowered as the main road our cul-de-sac attaches to is on a gradient and there were concerns with ice and snow in winter with wheelchairs, etc. and it was decided a level walkway straight across was required. As soon as we realised the benefits to the people going to the doctors we never persued so I'm not sure what the legalieies are I'm afraid. Lucky for us, its angle is ok and we're going at a snails pace anyway with it coming up to a junction.
  2. Its over the grand canyon. This happens very regularly because of its depth and heat changes. There are some crazy weather happenings almost daily.
  3. Something similar happened right in front of me. Was waiting at traffic lights, second in line. Next thing, a car shoots across from the intersecting road, loses it and hits the traffic light. It came down hard on the car in front of me destroying the windscreen and pushing down most of the roof. The driver was ok but he poor guy was just sitting there minding his own business - absolutely nothing he could do and no fault of his yet I bet he'll be paying heavily on insurance after declaring his "no fault" accident in future.
  4. Just done a reverse lookup and it's sharing with 124 domains so looks like it is on CL. I don't know if you have any sort of SLA limiting that. Next time it's bad, have a look in CPanel at the stats.124 actually sounds bad but its not in reality as most are personal sites and its based on traffic, etc. some will be just redirectors. Maybe there is an issue with the way it is allocating resources? i.e It's sharing with Pronto.com so I would imagine that gets a decent amount of traffic and server load. As a side note - what is the odds on this - someone I know has a website on the same server too!
  5. I've noticed it too. Does WIM have a dedicated server at Zen or are you part of their CloudLinux share?
  6. I always thought it was Arsenic poisoning but recently they've discovered it was gastric cancer I believe. Sorry, off topic :-
  7. I know a lot of webs are left but as lot of spiders eat their own web to re-use the resources, I wonder if they leave them when its frosty like this? It must really be cold for them. It would be like eating a load of ice lollies on a freezing day.
  8. It must be real it was in the paper. Why don't you think he looks cool? You could be GEOMETRY MAN and get a sexy little number like that I wouldn't advise trying cut your leg off though....
  9. You'd have thought he'd have called WHEEL CLAMP MAN
  10. Lol yeah, we used to use Ice lolly sticks
  11. Nice job. It's completely different. You must be pleased with fella.
  12. If the weather isn't too bad you could start taking out the fuses and narrow it down to at least a circuit to save some money with the auto-electrician if you can't find it yourself.
  13. I agree - it seems like drain. It's probably one of those dodgy mirror closure units... Your meter will have two fuses inside. Usually 200mA and 10A. my guess its its taken out one or both of them. May have just been a small arc as you put it on the battery or if you switched something on, its start up current was great than the fuses. Just whip the back off the meter and have a nosey.
  14. Just had a thought - .38A is very close to a 5w bulb. That's close to a 5w bulb (.41A @12v, .36 @13.8v) Might be coincidence though but something to think about. I wonder if your boot switch is actually faulty? I'd take the bulb out as a test for that one. Just thoughts here, I'm not doubting anything you have tested in any way Parthiban. Also, just for info, while on charge my IS used to stay pretty constant at 13.8v. Cars vary while on charge between 13.8 and 14.4v. as acceptable range. Just depends on the build.
  15. Only just caught this. This seems really odd. .38 (380mA) current draw with everything switched off does seem high. What meter setting did you have it on? I don't know if your meter has several decimal places on current setting. Hopefully it is .038. How long have you performed this test for? Something else intermittent may be causing it. Does your meter have a peak reading button? - it will hold the highest value on the display. If not keep checking over a period of the day. If you're measuring current on your meter, they have internal fuses that sometimes pop - possibly just that. I may have misread this but have you charged the battery and put it on the car. Not done anything and then come back to it a week or two later and its drained a few volts? If so, its nothing to do with the alternator - its either current drain or a faulty battery. They don't often go this quickly but if a cell has buckled for some reason then it will have symptoms you are describing. It could also be pulling the output of the alternator down giving a false positive on the alternator test. Or get a full load test from Halfrauds if they are giving them free. If it is definately drawing .38 then you'll have to do the pulling fuses method. Not convinced on the alternator but you may have a second fault - its hard to tell without the battery being fully functional. You should be able to leave the car a lot longer than you can without it having difficulties. I would hope the garage put a temporary known working battery on to rule out the possibly faulty bringing the voltage down under charge.
