  1. Absolutely heartbreaking. You can see how the rocks have really helped delay the erosion.
  2. Great pics. I love the Cotswolds. Been there quite a lot and worked a bit down there and lots of places, including Tetbury where Charlie lived at the time. I remember doing an out of hours network upgrade in Malmesbury and needed to clear my head after a particularly difficult problem so went for a walk. This place was out of the way and a saw a cut through alleyway into the town area, but everywhere seemed deserted. This was around 2:30am and as I was walking through, two police officers turned into the alley. Both walked past and said "Evening" and carried on walking. This absolutely amazed me as in Liverpool it would have been a full search and questioning where I was going and why in such a quiet area. A few minutes later I saw a woman walking her dog who who stopped for a chat. No shutters on the windows or anything. Lovely place. She said about the worst they hear of crime there is drunkenness.. This was about 10 years ago I was last there and hope it's managed to keep that.
  3. If it's bitumen like I guess petrol would break it down and probably ok on the plastics as long as you don't leave it to soak for a while as it can make some plastics brittle over time. You'll be in the same boat if you add more so as a temporary fix I don't think you will be adding a lot more work for yourself removing it.
  4. Brilliant. Home from home, especially if more family are on site at the time too. Paint/Wallpaper scraper if you don't want to try chemicals but wd40 soaked in often removes stuff like that.
  5. Such a shame they couldn't get funding. Any geological surveys showing how far inland is sand? Did you stroke the nice kitty.? I'm sure she will have snuggled in...
  6. Absolutely awful for the poor people. Especially with that access road now blocked which will clearly fall any minute. Must be really annoying knowing across the water from them are the masters of land reclamation from the sea.
  7. Just been watching them demolishing 3 before high tide tonight. So sad. I'd still be devastated even though I knew it was coming eventually.
  8. Such a shame. I take it he owned it years before he moved there in 2017 as he wouldn't have bought it Not that it matters, he is still in the same position. I assume Insurance companies won't cover as it's been happening for a while? I don't think I'd be nipping out with a torch to check... especially if the water washes away around the house to the side! 🤯
  9. I've always wondered. I heard the older ones destroyed the UV inhibitor coating on the paint so never looked further into it. That must have changed now (if it was true in the first place). Isn't graphene coating the new ceramic? New technology though and ceramic has been out a long time so would expect it to be good.
  10. Have a great one Rich, you certainly picked the weather!
  11. It certainly is. I expect we will always think of Tony when we see one 😢
  12. Great stuff. Doing the right thing there. Too easy to make the wrong decision on housing, looking through rose tinted glasses because it's a life change.
  13. Deep breaths Nick if you've not seen it already.... There doesn't seem to be anything new or outstanding. It will live on it's name if it's in the same price bracket as similar. More pics and specs HERE
  14. Couldn't have said it better Adam, and yes I absolutely agree and thank you Rich for all the work he has put in looking after the forum behind the scenes.
  15. Yes I agree. I've rented in between in between house buys and it takes all the pressure off.
  16. You probably are already but look for jobs where you want to locate to. When you have an offer, it may help force your hand and things could move very quickly.
  17. If there aren't enough contributors and it must go, we will still have the knowledge that it was Tony's passion and he wanted to communicate with the world. He wanted to build this all up and he succeeded. It is such a terrible shame. However, it would need all of us to put to it and you are right - you couldn't and shouldn't do it alone. I'll contribute.
  18. So when are you moving there? Bit close to the front but there's a plot of land for sale with utilities, 24ft x 110ft right on the coast for sale. Self build? Not sure of the price. It's further around into The Wash on Heacham beach. Not sure if that's anywhere you would like to be. It's a few miles from Hunstanton. HERE on google maps. I suspect the erosion isn't bad there but if the currents change it could be the same.
  19. It looks stunning. My sister tries to get to Cappadocia or Antalya at least once a year. Loves it.
  20. It looks lovely. Not sure I could live away from large bodies of water Nice sky. How is the temperature there at the mo? I really like early morning walks when it's 'fresh'. Seems to set you up for the day.
  21. The Welsh coastline never ceases to amaze me. Wrong time of year but even in summer there are places with not a sole in sight.
