for general use i dont think i would bother, cant see them lasting too long before they get someones attention but for track use they would be invaluable, constant checks on pressure would help assess handling problems however ...it aint cheap,
  2. surface was poor ! one set of r888's gone in a day but...as everyone agreed it was a great layout, 2 miles of twisty bits with a few 120mph+ straights thrown in car was behaving with sure grip and no feeling of stepping out
  3. some pics from Sculthorpe
  4. i would go for the first one cheaper and hasnt got gimmicky lights or tools which you would have anyway
  5. im not sure i am getting this ! all i see is 2 pictures, taken at slightly different angles
  6. Why would you, wasn't it a supra day? everyone else did
  7. i didnt get a mention good coverage, can only be good for WIM
  8. makes no difference, its to near the lens hint: if shooting through glass ie fish tanks, get the lens as close to the glass and you should get a clear shot, turn flash off can be also used to shoot through car windows, again if shooting through wire mesh/netting, set the focal point a fair distance and get close to the mesh, again you should get a clear shot with no mesh
  9. good advice when i go on holiday i take the camera bag as hand luggage and keep all the documents/tickets in it, that way the camera is kept safe as well as the documents
  10. leave them on each lens you have they fit on the end of the lens
  11. lol if you are going to try and drive up a mountain expect the consequences
  12. not good then ! as a track day tyre they only need to last a couple of races, but delaminating doesnt sound good been offered some for £25 a corner new thought it was worth a cheap try and see
  13. both cut UV, but the skylight can change the picture, nice for bright sunny days ! if it is just for protection choose the UV filter they also protect the chip from UV as they dont like it
  14. maxsport make them ! http://www.maxsport-competition-tyres.co.uk/
  15. machine mart do some decent torque wrenches in varying degrees of cost from £20 to £400+ clarke stuff is reasonable quality
  16. looking for some views through experience of these tyres i have seen good and bad reviews and they are used extensively in the motorsport circles for a trackday tyre they are cheap trashing toyo r888's after three rounds is getting very expensive, especially running two cars and Tony can you get them
  17. lucky bugger was it by chance that they both turned up ?
  18. try searching for a LEICA APO-TELYT-R 1:5.6/1600mm snip at $2,OOO,OOO
  19. thats really clever must have great potential
  20. Nope...... I've grown to like it do you find you smoke less in the car now
  21. HPI would be clear though as long as it hasn't been written off? Doesn't mean it hasn't had a heavy impact that hasn't been repaired properly....... Will be interesting to see what the chassis looks like when you take a look at it. HPI should inform off all categorys of write off a, b, c, and d, surely damage enough to deem the car unsafe would fall into one of those categorys unless it was never recorded
  22. why would the HPI be clear ? is this a newish car or an old car with a possible dodgy past is this main dealer or an independant arthur daley type why has it been deemed unsafe ?
  23. the Toyota Sprint Series staged round 3 of 2010 at Sculthorpe, Norfolk A specially set up 2 mile track which consisted of concrete, loose gravel, and various vegetation the WIM Starlet had a great day finishing second in class with a time of 119.47, giving an overall placement of 11th Dave Ellen in the Soarer finished with a 120.49 and overall placement of 14th 1st place went to Adrian Smith of Fensport in his Celica gt4 with a time of 103.49 in second place Jonny Milner, who rightfully had the excuse that he had competed in the welsh rally the day before Former double British Rally champion and 2009 Toyota Sprint Series champion Jonny Milner will have his work cut out when he defends two titles on consecutive days next month. Yorkshireman Milner and co-driver Ian Windress from Northallerton will start the Severn Valley round of the MSA National Gravel Rally Championship in pole position on 5th June after last month’s decisive victory at Kielder gave them the championship lead. Straight after the rally, Jonny will make the 226 mile journey from Powys to Fakenham, Norfolk in readiness for the third race in the Toyota Sprint Series Championship that takes place at RAF Sculthorpe on 6th June. Jonny is hoping that he will not be cursed by the gearbox issues that cost him the lead by 0.38 of a second in the second round at Barkston Heath on 4th April. Commenting on the prospect of back to back racing, 41 year old Jonny said; “It will be a challenging and tiring weekend with a rally one day and a sprint road race the day after but both the BFGoodrich and 7 Lakes supported Toyota Corolla WRC and the Merlin International and Anglo American Oil Company Ltd sponsored Toyota Celica GT4 are performing well. It’s 20 years since I last did a back to back " it was an eventful weekend where I rolled end to end on the rally, drove up to York hospital for x rays then set off to Rallycross at Knockhill in Scotland and won! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ overall was a good day, weather was kind up until late afternoon when a few showers appeared the Starlet performed well all day, with the only problem being with the brake fluid, after each round the fluid was boiling away and overflowing, so an upgraded racing fluid is now on order handling wise was near on perfect, with grip being available even where i least expected it, a little understeer was eliminated by tweaking the rear damper settings and a little less pressure in the front tyres really pleased how Tony has fine tuned the car to be a great set up Janey had a hard long day, having some fierce competition in her class, and then suffering a puncture here is an inboard video roll on the next round
  24. there will be another chance i am sure
