  1. Surely it will cost roughly the same to get the camber kit and fit that, than get 4 springs changed. Or if the 16's handle ok then keep them on with the car lowered. Can you borrow any 17's to see what it's like with them?
  2. So does that mean it's the camber causing this problem? If the camber is non adjustable then I don't understand how the car these wheels were originally on handled fine...or is each car unique, regardless of the fact it's the same make and model?
  3. Yeah the kit ain't cheap but if it's gonna improve the handling must be a small price to pay in the long run. Should improve tyre wear aswell.
  4. Did you use the same tyres that he did or replace them before putting them on?
  5. Sisson has the same motor as you if I'm right? Did he lower his the same amount as yours? This really is strange though!
  6. Your tyre size is correct for the wheels but I always thought the offset for the mondeo was between 35-45. These are genuine ford wheels though ain't they? What's the offset of the 16's?
  7. Offset is 52.5, the width of the rim is 7" You can't adjust the camber on the mondeo. I still think you need to lower your tyre pressures abit from your other thread on MEG.
  8. Is that a hint you've found somewhere then?
  9. As I've said on MEG, go to the garage cos you've started rounding the nuts off. If they round off completely you will need to hammer a smaller socket on it. For future reference, when you've had a wheel put on by a garage that use air guns undo the nuts and re-torque as soon as you get home. Should be around 85Nm
  10. Sure is and it's one of the first things I mention to members on MEG now when they complain about drifting/pulling. Unfortunately I've noticed that alot of garages don't seem to understand what they're for or how to use them, even online tyre sellers have sent me tyres with the band on the same side!
  11. Wouldn't it depend on what your current offset is? If they came out too far the handling could be even worse!
  12. Just looked on the other thread, they're for the wheel. If you put spacers on won't you risk the tyres catching on the arch lip, especially with 225? I've looked at the camber kits and it doesn't say they won't fit a MK3. Are the top mounts the same as the MK2 as that's what they replace?
  13. Don't we all mate, I get the gist of it but TBH alot of it takes me ages to absorb and actually understand what's being explained. In the above pic Tony, the white lines, do they represent the wheel/tyre?
  14. I paid for mine with paypal using firefox. Never had a problem with paypal using Mac or PC, so it may be the firefox browser on the Mac, only one I haven't used. I don't use explorer though, biggest pile of c**p ever!!!
  15. Yep working ok On MEG, there is a 'multimedia' section in the main forum, you need to be registered to see it. Tony and Jammy will know what I'm on about, but you can post your photos in there or link from the gallery, i.e. the link at the top. MEG also has a gallery as above but with the multimedia section as well I think it will get more people to look at it...just an idea. Like this...
  16. Press the 'Print Screen' key on the keyboard, will probably be abbreviated and then paste it in paint, photoshop etc and save as a jpg. Have you tried in Internet Explorer?
  17. I think this is a browser issue, tried it in IE and it's fine, in firefox it's not...
  18. That works now but looks like this! You might have to open the image in a new window. When I say incorporated I mean like a link to the gallery from the main forum so it makes people more aware it's there...
  19. To start with I can't even access it now, says I don't have permission, either through the gallery link or my albums Also is it possible to incorporate it in the main forum as the only visual link is the gallery button up the top and I don't think it's getting used as much as it could. Just a thought!
  20. Although mine is a MK2 I have lowered it 30mm on Eibach springs and it's improved the handling alot, more noticeably body roll and tramlining. Wasn't there some kind of handling issue on the MK3 with 18's anyway, I'm sure I read that somewhere? Welcome to WIM as well
  21. there was a post askin that on MEG and the conclusion was that though it may work A/C will drain power so technically what it gaind by this would be counteracted by usin the A/C.but on a vayron has bunccle's of power so may not notice the A/C anyway Yeah I read that, was interesting...
  22. I've got next week off work so anytime really. Was hoping to book the car into Kip's for the MOT next week as well if I get the repairs done this weekend. When you last set the car it was on the 16" wheels, could changing to the 17's have upset it a little? When you do a geometry you always input the wheel size into the computer so this must play some part in the calibration?

Plus he now has a hard copy from our print-out for them to return the chassis to. Don't main dealers get funny about using settings that aren't their own though?
  24. So from the photos I've taken do you think the tyres will wear on the edges alot quicker than the rest of it? Would fitting the camber kit help or is it only the toe that can cause this kind of wear?
