  1. Yes from the marks on the arch liner it seems that's where it's rubbing?
  2. I adjusted them slightly, but i used the shock body like you say rather than the preload springs. In terms of when it started, well I can't really remember, certainly months and months ago. Would the failure of something be a possible cause, bushings etc?
  3. I'll try that later on and see. I didn't change the springs etc as they came already assembled from the factory but I guess they could be wrong.... That means nothing to me but I know you know your stuff I don't think they're adjustable at the top mount, only the stiffness from 1 - 30 or something.
  4. I did have it done yea, you guys did it about a year ago? Yea it contacts the roof of the arch it seems rather than the edge of the arch. How would I test for a weak damper, is there any way?
  5. I haven't tried pushing down on it wheels straight, will try that. Tony, it's rubbing at the top middle to front from the marks that were on the arch liner
  6. Cross posting from another forum here: So I have Meister R's all round on my MK1 with the 15" E30 alloys and 195/50 tyres. The issue I have is that when I turn whilst on a cambered surface, ie a gentle driveway onto the road, the wheels scrape like anything in the arches. The car is lowered but not very much, see picture below. It's embarrassing that I can't go down the gentlest of slopes without a horrible scraping noise. What could it be? I've removed the liners and it still does it? It's almost like the shock is too soft and when the car leans forward whilst turning the wheel hits the top of the arch? Surely I don't need rolled arches with this setup? Is it possible for the coilovers to be back to front or something? If I were to bring it in to WIM would you be able to advise?
  7. I might owe you 20 of your finest Internet pounds....Fitted the spigots and from my brief drive to 60mph it seemed fine. I will give a proper run tomorrow but fingers crossed it's all good!
  8. I haven't actually, thanks for this help, all appreciated. You guys were great at setting up the geo on the car earlier in the year! I'll hopefully fit the spigots tonight and have a check for play etc.
  9. Ok noted, we'll see how they work. It's weird as I've had the wheels on my previous MX5 and this one without issue until recently, perhaps I've been lucky!
  10. Nothing noticeable, used to be fine, seems to have just got worse. I've ordered some spigots which arrive today and see if they help but otherwise is it something I can come in for you guys to look at on friday?
  11. Hi guys, They are aftermarket but had the wheels on my old MX5 and this one for a while with no spigots. The tyres are all pretty new Rainsport 3s so they should be ok. It gets more intense in terms of vibration the faster I go yes, 70mph can be really shaky.
  12. Right so I have a problem in that as soon as I get to around 45-50mph my wheel starts to shake quite badly. I assumed it was the front wheels being out of balance and so took it to a tyre place and they've "balanced" them but the problem persists. It gets worse the faster I go and doesn't seem to die off after 70mph like wheel balance issues tend to. I know that there seems to be huge variation in wheel balancing machines but does it sound like the wheels or would it be something else like bushes etc? Any ideas welcome! Thanks
