  1. I have always enjoyed caring for my vehicle. I take the time to wash and wax on a regular basis. I sweep and clean the inside at least once every week or two. I change the oil on a regular basis, and have everything checked and maintained when it should be done. I recently started looking at ways to improve the overall performance of my vehicle by trying to find ways to improve my overall gas expense. This took me on a journey around the internet in order to find solutions that would help. My journey eventually took me to a number of different influences on gas mileage. I soon learned that even the smallest of things influenced how much I was going to have to pay at pumps. I was amazed to learn how much my tyres impacted how much I paid at the pump. I started to look into things a bit more and found a number of things to be true. Tires can be expensive. Buying the right kinds of tyres for the best overall performance can add up really fast. I also learned that it does ultimately pay to purchase several types of tyres for every condition found on the road. If I rotate my tyres according to the season, and maintain a number of different factors, I could actually save a ton of money at the pumps in petrol. I started my research on the world wide web like most of us often do when we have a question. I started with Wikipedia as I often do, and I found that there are a trillion different posts related to tyres. There is even a post at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tire_rotation which talks about tire rotation. Someone really put some thought into that. I am interested in learning more about what people do, or don't do, to improve the overall cost of gas. What are changes and details that we should all know that will help improve the cost of fuel? With the price of everything constantly on the rise, we can start to pull our ideas together to help each other save money on the cost of fuel. I already know the following which I will start the list with. - Changing the oil and filters on a regular basis is essential for improving fuel costs. - Rotating tyres and keeping them properly inflated significantly impacts costs. Taking a little bit of time to check your tyres regularly can make a huge difference in your vehicles fuel performance. - Running the air conditioner and heat uses fuel. The real question is how much comfort we are willing to trade for money? What else do you all have to offer that is helpful and useful. Let me hear some of your tips, techniques, and ideas.
  2. I am currently going through a bit of country music phase. I don't know why, but there is a little bit of country deep down in my soul, and it has come to the surface lately. I do enjoy many of the songs posted here, thanks for the posts to many of them. I know R. Kelly has gained a horrible reputation, but I cannot deny that I love that song above and a number of other songs of his. I am also a huge Fleetwood Mac fan so thanks for that post. I am a bit thrown off. It is funny to be browsing down through and seeing bands like Five Finger Death Punch. Then all of a sudden, out of the blue, a Donna Summers video and song pops in there. Kind of strange, just because of the sudden shift. Thanks for the post guys!
  3. That is crazy to put it simple. I cannot even imagine how that guy probably pooped himself when that tire let loose. If you watch closely you will notice that he looks away just before the tire lets go. Not that actually watching the tire would have made it any less of a problem or less likely for him to have deficated in his pants, but it had to really take him by surprise when something suddenly popped and he was flung into the air. Those tires can be no joke. I have seen several people get hurt from something like this in my family. I have many family members who drive large trucks and every one of them has a story to tell about a rogue tyre running wild and hurting someone.
  4. This is a hilarious post. I am still laughing so hard it is nearly impossible for me to actually type this message. I don't typically find to many comical threads online, even when there are hundreds of posts, but this one is hilarious. I love the seal in the penguin photo. It reminds me of those photos you see where there is some goof in the back making some kind of face or pose in a picture that he has absolutely no business being in at all. I also love the dog with all the wiskers. Is that photo with the traffic or dishes on the roof tops real? That is incredible if they are even close. I can't imagine how stressful 20 lanes of bumper to bumper traffic could be.
  5. I have seen some crazy things on the road during my years of driving. I once went to a city about 2 hours from my home town in order to attend a weekend seminar. While I was on my way out of the city a group of motorcycles passed by at a speed I cannot even begin to guess at. A few minutes up the highway I saw a huge bloom of smoke and fire shoot up into the air. I can only guess that it was one of those motorcycles, but the thought of it has never left me. I didn't actually see this in person, but there is a video on the internet of a van on the highway. The van loses control during slick driving conditions and crosses over the median directly in front of a large truck. The van is blown completely apart. The road can be a dangerous place, that is for sure.
