  1. hi jon really interested in this i've got a soft spot for the mr2's myself, and have n/a plans to get it light and handle like its on rails, i'm afraid the pics aren't working at the moment, but i was hoping maybe you could put up a pic of the underbody fixtures and diffuser i'd love to do the same to mine, as u can understand being n/a i'm going to have to be very anal with weight and co-efficient where possible, theres a company called carbenfibre on the mr2oc he does fiberglass panels and carben fibre ones if your budget will allow the doors caught my eye also what struts/springs or coilovers did you decide upon
  2. thanks for the reply i'm not interested in doing it personaly, just intrigued by it excellent and helpful response thanks i think i'll go for a cigarette and then read that again
  3. thanks very much nick the engines coming back out this weekend so i'll pass the information on much appreciated and manchester's only up the road
  4. no worries i understand it's hard to advise someone through a forum, its hard enough trying to explain things sometime's, i know the bc's are good but quite costly didn't realise they had camber adjustment in the top mounts aswell, i'll have a look into the kyb's and see if i can get some rebound rates or settings and see if i can find someone who's already used or using them thanks all
  5. hi all new to this forum really like this horror of the week idea and fingers crossed someone who reads this may be able to help anyway...... my friend and i put his new engine in the scoob yesterday, its a wrx with non wrx heads on it not sure why but he was advised to do this then wrx eng loom again dunno y but he was told to do it, td05, skimmed flywheel, skimmed heads, new gaskets belt etc, we dropped her in and mated it up to the gearbox and i recall saying quietly "this is going abit too well" anyway the horror bits still to come..... all plumbed up apart from the boost pipes as he needs to fit the front mount first we double checked all fluids ensured the turbo was lubed and disconnected the coilpack, turned the engine over on the starter to circulate some fluids, still going all too well but at this point i'm sure u can forgive us for getting enthusiastic and wanting to fire the old girl up............ so we did exactlty that.... first time she fired revved nicely high idle and abit lumpy but nothing serious at first glance, the slight smell of burning oil and my mate said thats probably the oil i spilt on the manifold when i topped it up if only the rocker cover gaskets are leaking on both sides one from the spark plug which he informs me he couldn't get the right gasket part for and the other possibly from the main gasket going around the outer edge wounded as we were we called it a day the engine drives but wont idle although we think the idle's down to the mass of vaccum hoses etc that are not connected as they need the entire boost pipes to be connected to create a system (maybe) but after all that it might need to come out again which sucks big time any help on getting the rocker gaskets would be much appreciated he has tried a couple of new kits but they've all been wrong and local companies and engine builders can offer no further assistance in where to get them. not the most horrific but proof if ever that sod's law exist's thanks all
  6. hi tony newbe here, hoping you may be able to help explain something too me, i've been advised to corner weight properly the arb's should have the tension removed from them by using adjustable droplinks, what confuses me is that surely if you then put the tension back in by tightening them up the corner weight setup would alter? or is it a case of adjusting the tension as part of the corner weighing????
  7. hi all new to this forum, found this thread through ebay, i'm also quite interested in B road bashing in the mk2 mr2 and am also unsure what setup to go for and find the mr2oc's equally useless for anything other than trackday setups, i don't really want to go for coilovers i've seen some kybs from the states for around £400 on fleabay, think they're fixed rate adjustable aswell. i have absoloutly no concern over if the car has terrible ride comfort but i dont want it to be 'choppy' where did you see the avo's matey can't find them?? the billstein b8's seem sensible but are more expensive then the kyb's any help much appreciated
