  1. Cheers Tony, solution to equal camber on both sides?
  2. Edit... That isn't my van BTW! Just using that as an example.
  3. It's quite a common issue on vw so same family group.
  4. For those that know me, yes I bought a van.. Move on now So according to quite a few forum comments, in uk they wear the NSF outer edge "it's normal". I think it's rubbish and not normal. This is some guys after 3500 miles. Your thoughts on the wear and alignment results and generally known wear issue on these vans? Thanks!
  5. hi Tony, Many thanks for the response, if i understand correctly its a case of moving the rear camber to the max positive tolerance to reduce the inner wear or do you have some alternate settings available ?
  6. Hi all, My friend has a BMW 2007 525 diesel estate with the factory run flats. All 4 wheels are wearing on the inside, I remember an old post from Tony with a similar issue on a x5. Are there revised settings for the 525d to reduce the wear? Thanks in advance.
  7. hi Tony, apologies for late reply.. I did have another look and all looked normal on the adjusters. I will get a pic in the next week.
  8. I have removed them over the years but they were marked before hand and went back in the same orientation. but I will have a double check to confirm.
  9. no they are all free, I had them all out a few weeks ago. I replaced the standard rubber bushes on the lower control arm 1 +2 with the solid bearings from the USA. The original rubbers were shot. Turning the adjuster doesnt make any real difference, so was wondering about a larger cam adjuster from a different model.
  10. Cheers for the confirmation Tony. . They tried getting the camber a bit better and it did move a bit when adjusting the toe but that was the best possible.
  11. hi Tony/all, For years I have had issues with front inner wear and recently a ball joint failed whilst I was going out of my parking space but no signs of wear, noises etc . I replaced the ball joints and at the same time new struts, and installed solid control arm bushes. I went to somewhere that has had previous good reports so here goes.. for the untrained eye it doesn't look too bad. Front camber couldn't be directly adjusted though - are larger adjusters available from a different model? The text on the sheet is in german but sure you can work out what is what Tony I left this one sideways as its easier to read the text. If any translation needed please let me know. The castor has always been 7 degrees since I lowered it and hasn't changed for the last 14 years. Car doesn't pull to either side btw. Here is hoping the geo is ok.
  12. ok got it. many thanks... i have -30mm springs does that make a big difference?
  13. maybe I dont follow but do i just leave all the settings as std and adjust the camber to 15’ negative ?
  14. Cheers Tony. I have replaced all 4 front arm bushes, new front/rear ARB links, new lower balljoints, inner and outer track rods and the rear 2 lower suspension arms. Had to cut out 1 of the rear arms though as the bolt had siezed in the bush - angle grinder and cutting disc sorted that in about 30 mins. i have an issue with the steering rack having excessive movement when the car is still, the rack has new bushes and the wheels turn freely with the tie rod disconnected. Apart from that its fine. waiting for some polyurethane or solid Figs drivers side steering bushes which should hopefully fix that issue. putting my new winter tyres on after I do the bushes. Nokian WR A3 http://www.nokiantyres.com/tyre?id=2139912...ame=Nokian%20WR A3 215/45 R17 91V XL BSW would prefer the Hakkapeliitta R but delivery time is too long. do you have a link to the revised settings somewhere?? - i cant find it but i know they are here somewhere.... Its the standard 17" wheels with standard suspension on eibach -30mm springs. In the past I couldnt get the front camber but hopefully with the new bushes that should be sorted - fingers crossed! if i cant get the ideal camber what would be the max limit - or can that that only be determined with all the other settings? many many many thanks for all your help so far
  15. i found a supplier on ebay so have a set coming to me... ill report back when i have everything ready and also for a confirmation of the setting i have.. if thats ok?
