  1. Thanks again Tony. Would the drive flange problem also be the cause of the screeching sound when car is reversing?. Could you supply and fit the part?, and if so , how much would it cost?. Regards John.
  2. Hi, the problem has reared its head again. The vibration is minimal at this time, but there is a creaking/grinding noise from the front nearside when the car is turning right. Any thoughts?. Also another problem which I thought I had cured a couple of years ago has also come back. There is a screeching sort of noise when the car is reversing on full left hand lock. The last time this happened the toothed belt that drives the pas pump was bably worn and stretched. A new belt sorted the problem, and it still looks in good condition. Any ideas on this one?. Regards John.
  3. Thanks again mate. I wish your company was closer to me. You obviously really know your stuff.!!!!.
  4. Yes, it was a distorted disc. I did swop them from side to side, and the problem went from nearside to offside. 1 disc replaced, problem solved. Thanks for the advice. Regards John.
  5. Both disc faces, both sides look clean, with no signs of marking. Easy test.... Move the discs side-to-side and see if the problem migrates. Thanks for that. I will give it a go.

  7. This problem might not exclusively apply to Subarus. The car has developed a problem when braking which I suspect is to do with a wheelspeed sensor. The car has an annoying judder when braking, which can be felt through the steering wheel and is worse as braking speed increases. The discs and pads are in good order. The problem is at the front end, I think. I have noticed that the front nearside will lock up under heavy braking, which seems to suggest that the ABS is receiving the wrong information from the braking ECU. Can a faulty wheelspeed sensor be the culprit, and if so, would I be able to fit a new sensor. In other words, are there any problems which I might encounter. The car belongs to my wife, and she is still very dear to me , so it is important that the problem be fixed. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Regards John.

  10. Nah you won't the housings are locked in Thanks again mate.I will let you know when done. Drier weather wanted. Regards John.
  11. Yes I do remember you helping me on another site. Thanks for the photos, I am now clear as to what this kit looks like. When you fitted yours, did you manage to get the shocks out without disturbing the hub or driveshafts? I am going to try and contact the previous owner to find out if the original spring seats and bearings were fitted. Thanks for your help ,again. I will try to get some photos of my cars and bike posted soon. I am not a computer techi as you may have realised. Kind regards John.
  12. Thanks for that. I dont know if the original spring seat is fitted. I might buy a couple just in case to save stripping out dampers and finding I have another unforseen problem and then having to put it all back together again. Regards John.
  13. My St24 is currently fitted with Koni Sport dampers to front end. The dampers have had the spring carriers cut off to allow coilovers to be fitted. The car is running 19 inch front wheels with 35mm low profile tyres, and Eibach adjustable top mounts. When I bought the car, it was running more than 2 degrees negative camber and used to eat front tyres due to inside walls failing at 4-5000 miles. After a lot of investigation, it was found that the nearside could be adjusted to correct camber, but just over 2 degrees negative was the best that could be acheived on the offside. I tried to move the engine over to be central between the suspension turrets but that was not succesful. I then decided to fit new wishbones and invested in poly bushes. I then moved the ball joint on the offsde wishbone,in 6.5 mm. That cured the problem with the camber. I also fitted a 3mm spacer to offside wheel and have not experienced any other problems. The nearside damper has failed so I have decided to fit G-MAX front dampers along with G_MAX lowering springs, as the existing set up is so hard, and it seems that the tyres are acting as the shock absorbers which is not good on our worsening roads. My question is, will the Eibach tops fit the larger diameter springs? If not what is the option?. Regards John.
