  1. thanks for the info tony, i'm confident of my ability but as you say cannot confirm the end result. it drives ok and i'll keep an eye on any tyre wear developing. if it does i'll pop over for a check up.
  2. since fitting an aftermarket steering wheel ( i had to modify a boss as there isnt a specific one for the mk2 mondy) the steering wheel has been annoyingly slightly to the right when driving in a straight line. i have shortened the track rod on the offside and lengthened the nearside one by the same amount (one complete turn) which has straightened the steering wheel when driving in a straight line. i didnt do this willy nilly i was careful to keep things equal. is this process ok and will my tracking / tyre wear still be ok? btw i have the eibach camber adjusters on the car set up by tony and have had no tyre troubles since, almost two years now.
  3. sounds like a plan, you could probably sell a few sets on MEG if the price was right and get some income fitting/setting them up or even do a supply and fit deal. you could use my car as a guinea pig if rich dont want to use his lol
  4. okey dokey i understand. rich do you know what size the thread is on the mounts? Sorry Dan I don't know. Maybe go down down a breakers and get a nut to compare. good idea
  5. okey dokey i understand. rich do you know what size the thread is on the mounts?
  6. cheers rich. thats the answer i was hoping to hear. i have some loctite at work. good to hear yours is still ok. shows what a good job tony does. i was wondering about approaching tony for another knowledge day towards the end of summer / autumn. what do you reckon? tony whats your thoughts on holding another knowledge day for meg if there is enough interest?
  7. hello guys, not been on here for a bit. i have a set of the eibach camber adjusters on my mk2 mondeo set up by tony on the meg knowledge day. recently i noticed the nut on top of the mount was loose and went to tighten it but it wont, seems to have stripped the thread. is this a major problem? i have also noticed a knocking noise from that area when going over uneven road surfaces. is it possible to fit a new nut and washer with a similar thread or does it have to be the nut with the 'collar' on it? will my geo have gone awry, must say the tyre wear appears to be ok
  8. phew thought i had problems thanks for putting my mind at rest
  9. today i had the front wheel off (mk2 mondeo with eibach camber adjuster kit fitted by me and set up by you guys) i held the disc to turn the steering and as i did so the strut moved side to side. is this normal as there is no weight on it or should it not move? i'm kinda worried incase i end up on your horror of the week slot lol
  10. As Dan has no handling issues 4 wheel alignment will be ok as you can assume the rear is set correct, but he also has the camber/caster kit fitted. Wouldn't it be better to do a geometry to check these angles don't change when the toe is adjusted? Dan, I take it the camber kit is still working ok on yours, handling and tyre wear both fine? yeah got no issues, tyre wear is ok and no steering issues.
  11. thanks for the reply i may have to pop along when i am at my wits end with it lol
  12. tony i have modified an aftermarket steering wheel and hub kit to fit to my car but the steering wheel slightly off of straight (very slightly off but just annoys me) when the wheels are pointing straight. is it possible to adjust this out with the tracking and not upsetting the geometry etc?
  13. its been fine, no issues whatsoever. i fitted new rims as you saw on meg and now all four are straight (a rear one was buckled) the car feels good and solid.
  14. I would say no..... The reason no is the correction is only in one plane and due to the type of adjuster i cannot see why the positions would settle... A fine-tune now costs £30.... save your money i dont mind paying if it needed it but if you think it will be ok then i'll save my money lol. thanks for an honest answer
  15. now the camber adjusters have been on since the MEG knowledge day i was wondering if the car will need a check up on the initial settings as things may have settled etc. i dont have any noticeable issues but thought i'd ask.
