liner33
What the motorcycle outriders do is race up in front of the convoy and hold the traffic, so any big junction or set of lights, you can spot one holding pedestrians on the crossing , they are constantly doing that along the route to keep the Royal car moving , they themselves will probably be sat around 30mph. Rich
I was stopped once by a police motorbike to let a convoy of coaches past coming out of Watford. There's a narrow bridge that's wide enough for 2 cars but not a car and coach. I was just approaching the bridge to go over it and the bike came flying over on my side of the road and I had to slam on before I got him! About 5 coaches immediately followed. I can understand they need to stop the traffic to let them over but it was the speed at which they did it that shocked me. Did the guy in the video pull away too quickly? Tony
No i don't think so in fact i think he hit the bollard?
Viking
He pulled away too quick with too much lock and lean, and the back wheel lost traction and stepped out. Then the back wheel gained grip again and threw the rider over the top. It's called a highside in motorbike racing. Some good examples...
