Bodyshop issues !

Pretty fuming here really.

A few weeks back my wife managed to reverse into a fire escape at work and did this

Doesnt look like much but really added up to a substantial bill so we need to claim on insurance , our insurer "AXA" have been excellent really good and arranged the car to go into a VW approved bodyshop

Since we had a small scuff on the front bumper we asked the body shop to do that for us and we would pay for it separately

So the car was away two weeks and we went to collect on a rainy Saturday and all looked fine with both bumpers ,  as the car was freshly painted I held off from giving it a good detail for a few weeks to allow the paint to cure

Fast Forward to Thursday and I decided to give the car a bit of attention as the wife was away. The repairs to the bumpers are fine , but when I got around to the drivers wing I was shocked

A) The drivers wing was perfect , not a mark on it before

B) Its been dented and filled and then painted really poorly , numerous "fish eye" blemishes, a run along the wheelarch and looks like Stevie Wonder checked the paint match

Not happy, been onto Axa and they have again been excellent but the bodyshop are denying all knowledge , since Ive had the car from new and polished it frequently I dont think they have a hope, the bodyshop did take extensive pictures of the car when it went in so i suspect they are stuffed as the pics I took clearly show its been painted

I suspect the wing got damaged by them or whilst the car was in their care and they tried to bodge it, there are sandpaper marks under the paint so I think its been filled. All I can say for sure is that the wing was perfect and now its been sprayed, the only time that could have happened was when the car was away getting the other repairs.

The bodyshop was chosen by AXA and was VW approved , I had the choice of two and this was the only VW approved one

I have one of the directors coming out to me today , given the car a quick wash and wipe down

I think they are of the opinion that either this happened before or since and I'm trying to stiff them somehow

since I keep the car so nice i have dozens of pics showing its condition I even just prior to the accident as do they but we will see

It's clear that it's been recently painted due to lack of stone chips . I kinda get their point that it could be someone else's shoddy job but as I said to the chap "if some else had done this job then I would be speaking to them"

Good news they've agreed to sort it - I bet they will give it extra attention, I'd imagine most people wouldn't have spotted that so they probably thought they'd get away with it.
