Sagitar
I took a few pictures at the Bedfordshire indoor championships yesterday and I thought this one was interesting. There is a lot of foreshortening because of the angle at which I took it - the shooting distance was 20 yards. You can see the string still moving and the arrow is part way down the range. The amount of flexure that occurs in the arrow as it is loosed continues to surprise me. Poor natural light, so I wound up the ISO to 3,200 to get a decent shutter speed. Shot on a Fuji X series camera with a 50-200mm zoom lens at f/4.4 - 128mm focal length - 1/320 sec.
Rich
That's a lovely shot, very sharp, just a shame those arrows are in the bottom left corner, I find them distracting. On what area did you set the focus on?
Sagitar
Thanks Rich - your right about the arrows. I considered cloning them out and I might have another go, but I was only taking record shots for the County website. The shooting marks are only about two feet apart so it's difficult to find viewpoints that exclude all traces of the next archer. I used single point autofocusing and centred it on the arrow rest. Tony
Stunning picture locking a moment in time.... It almost looks 3D which i suppose is how your drawn into the focal point.
