First Aid Wheels - Refurb

Recommended Posts

Thanks - yeah they've done a cracking job, the finish close up is superb. Plus the added convenience that they have loan wheels for many cars, so was able to keep the car running while they did the refurb, then just pop back in and swap my wheels back on and it's all done.

Great service and conveniently in London too!

Looks like a good job but cost would be a factor.

The refurb was £280+VAT for the four wheels including borrowing their wheels for the week, but I had to pay an extra £15+VAT on each wheel as they all needed a bit of straightening. So total job was just over £400 all inclusive.

A bit on the pricey side, but given the quality of the work, the fact that the loan wheels meant the car could stay on the road, and the convenience of being in London, it seemed a fair price.

I'll probably use BJV again, £45 a wheel without tyres. I'm planning on the getting the MX5 ones done once the tyres need replacing so probably in a year or 2. Or Max Powder, heard good things about them.

Powder coat is much harder as well.

Does that mean they've improved now?

Yep agreed on the powder coat, don't think I'd ever have wheels wet painted unless it was really cheap - to be fair the BJV job was pretty tough, even after 8 years the wheels on the IS don't look too bad, bit of corrosion starting to creep through but mostly look ok.

I have no idea but I've not seen any recent negative reviews.

I only dealt with them once and they were fine. If I remember the wheel hadn't been balanced properly after the repair (buckled) so I took it back and they did it again with no problems.
