Not sure if i should do this or not... Been offered a 230 kompressor for £200. Arches are a little rusty but thats it for rust and there is a minor oil leak at the front of sump.

Its a good runner though, new pads and disks all round, all the electronics work and she certainly goes well.

I know its a £200 car but then its another £200 on tax and probably insurance... Can i /should i throw £600 at a 'fun' car?

You haven't replaced the Accord yet have you? It sounds like a bargain for £200, I'd go for it and if it doesn't work out I'm sure you'd get that back selling or even scrapping it?

Accord hasnt been replaced as i cycle in to work as its only 12 miles each way.

My thinking is its rwd.. It a laugh... Is old and dont care too much about the body work...

My only concern is the rusty arches.

But it had no mot advisories in january this year, the previous year it only had drop links as an advisory and they where changed.

Now I've seen it on a larger screen I would definitely go for it, looks like a solid motor for not much money!

What are you doing with the NCB from the Accord, you'll lose them after 2 years I think?

I would run it till its dead but insurance quotes are outrageous!

Lowest quote is £400! Madness..

I think its worth a pass as its £830 outlay before i have evrn started.. Gutted is an understatement

When you factor in tax and insurance running a car isn't cheap if it won't get used much, especially if you're only getting it cos it's cheap. I want an MX5 for a summer/weekend toy but I really want one so I'm prepared to pay for it. If someone just said do you want this car for £200 that I didn't REALLY want then I probably would leave it.

Having said that how much is the car worth in parts, they seem to go for abit on ebay or the complete car could get £400-£600, if you wanted to make a quick profit on it?
