Tony
We recently entered into a "trial" collaboration sharing some excellent workspace and facilities and prospects with a new Wheel Refurbishment Company in Milton Keynes. Unfortunately and due to circumstances beyond our control we have decided to withdraw from this operation as there was a potential for a "conflict of interests" and we did not want to do anything that would jeopardise our good name and integrity. We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause but we are acting in the best interests of our company/companies. Rich
Ok, so shall I come to Chesham on Monday then, I'll PM you.... Are you moving to another premises then or just keeping the one centre?
SMARTLY
Well that's a bit of a shock. Is it the whole centre closing including wheels and tyres or just the geometry?
Tony
I'm going back to Chesham. The Atomic center will still be open but wim/ Blackboots will not be supporting/ operating from there.
parthiban
Bit of a shame but if it doesn't work it doesn't work. I'm sure something even better will be coming along soon!
Tony
Obviously i feel upset it went wrong but at the end of the day we didn't fail, in fact we did very well.
Vipercar93
That's a shame! Chesham is a drive and a half for me!
Tony
Sorry but the new terms were unrealistic.
Rick101
Crikey, I only popped in this afternoon. Wasn't there long enough to have a proper chat. I did always wonder how things worked the first time I went to MK, opportunity for some great business but also opportunity for conflict. Tony
There can be a problem when there's cohabitation and joint interests. We felt uncomfortable and not willing to lower our standards.

parthiban
We felt uncomfortable and not willing to lower our standards. I always find this kind of thing silly though, when WIM is all about quality, why would they want to even work with you in the first place if they would want you to compromise on the feature that makes you who you are! Tony
Keeping the level we expected looked fine on paper. As the business grew we was expected to lower our sights to accommodate the wheel refurbishment plant, this simply was not going to happen. Obviously there are other factors in the mix but fundamentally we will not fall below our own standards.

Obviously there are other factors in the mix but fundamentally we will not fall below our own standards. I don't think anyone would expect you to lower your standards considering the hard work you and the WIM team have spent in RAISING standards, so good for you in keeping pride in work Some partnerships work, some don't. Just like relationships you never know unless you try, but at least the split is amicable. Good luck to all and focus on your individual strengths. Now back to sorting my alignment (geometry) out
Tony
Learning curve with this one....... Sad it didn't work out and sad to lose some team members along the way, but it is what it is!
Tango
That's a pity, MK was a little more convenient for me . Anyway Tony, read your pm's, I require your assistance (please ).

TheBoy
Damn, and I didn't even get the chance to use the MK branch On the upside, I did nick a lot of WIM's coffee and scoff a lot of WIM's cakes on the open day Sounds like the split was for all the right reasons, so I applaud WIM's morals for that , even if it is a pain to get to Chesham! Tango
Is young Barber offering a similar service to WIM for Atomic then? If so that's a kick in the whatsits. What's the chance of keeping the MK outfit as a WIM approved centre?
